Land Birds: Songbirds

Bluebirds, Dippers, Gnatcatchers, Kinglets, Robins, Thrushes, Old World Warblers, Wrentit

These diverse birds (28 species) are not at all closely related. Bluebirds bring joy, American Dipper find insects under rocks in fast-flowing streams, the Wrentit has a distinctive call that is characterized as a ping pong ball bouncing, kinglets are tiny and active, gnatcatchers flash their long tails to scare prey, which they then capture in the air. Robins and thrushes have beautiful, clear songs.
