Land Birds: Songbirds

Bananaquit, Cardinaline Buntings, Cardinals, Dickcissel, Grosbeaks, Tanagers

Generally small and brightly colored, this group of birds (21 species) are found in bushy, or wooded habitats.

Tanagers (5 species) have stout, pointed bills and feed in woodland on insects and fruit.

Cardinals (2 species), grosbeak’s (5 species), buntings (5 species), and Dickcissel have thick, conical bills and feed on seeds, fruit, and insects in weedy or brushy habitats.
