Waterbirds: Swimmers
Anhinga, Cormorants
There are 3 species of True Cormorants (Great, Double-crested, Neotropic) and 3 species of Pacific Cormorants (Brandt’s, Pelagic, Red-faced). True cormorants will utilize fresh water habitats whereas Pacific cormorants only forage in the ocean.
Anhinga is markedly different from cormorant species. It has a long neck and is found in swamps and wooded freshwater ponds.
