Waterbirds: Swimmers

Swans & Geese

Swans (3 species) and geese (8 species) are larger than ducks, longer necked, and typically found in flocks. They graze on land and feed in water by tipping up. Large flocks of geese act as “carriers” - other species join the flock and may travel along to places beyond their usual range.
