Pigeons, Doves

The group includes 14 species, some of which were introduced to USA, including the ubiquitous Rock Dove (the feral pigeon). We know from watching our bird feeder, that pigeons (Band-tailed Pigeons in our case) will gather in large flocks. Doves don’t do that. Southern US has some delightful small doves with bright red wings such as the Inca Dove, Ruddy & Common Ground-Doves.
